This got T.V endorsements, online registrations, Dog tag selling, Guest bands, and most likely in the center of conversations of those newly registered voters; including myself.

The “Ako Mismo” movement encourages us to make our own contributions to make our country move one step ahead from its current state. It emphasizes that the biggest problem of the Philippines is not poverty, anomalies or the lack of peace but us Filipinos who are “Carefree”.

There are rumors that says that this movement is just a building list and eventually sell the crowd to mail/web advertisers. Moreover, there are some who thinks that this movement will use your personal information (when registered) to access your privacy in doing their hidden acts such as stealing. This information I have heard came from one main question; Why can’t you access their full page if you are not registered resulting to direct hindrance to new viewers who really want to know their platform, mission whatsoever?

As I have watched their commercial, I ended up thinking-” Do all commercials on TV only tells us that we need this or that even if we really think that we can actually live without it?” After a few minutes, I guessed I am wrong. I laughed and thought that many food and water commercials are out there and brought me back to earth and realized that my body consists of 70% water and converts enough glucose to make me go to school. “Ako mismo” is a necessity. “Ako mismo” slaps us and tells us that our bad culture (anomaly, corruption etc) must be cut from its roots. Even if you regret registering to the movement and rather join to senseless websites, go on, it’s your freedom, if you really want to move, nothing could stop you and vice versa.

I have to say, this wakeup call made by the “Ako mismo” movement is really great and I congratulate them for doing or even producing such ways of encouragements. On the other hand, I am still having those blurry eyes looking of its main goal and HOW particularly will they be going to dissolve this crisis; even if it starts from little things, Filipinos nowadays need direct guidance of how we do things for the reason that, I believe, Filipinos, especially the youth, are living misguided by our elders who think that we are the hope of the future generation.
